We are a group of honey bee enthusiasts learning and sharing skills and knowledge in Bibb County, Alabama. With dues only $10 per year, membership is one of the best bargains around!

Contact us to get involved. We have scheduled meetings and field trips. We can also arrange to have you visit a hive or point you to training classes.

Need to Get Rid of Bees?

Depending upon the situation, some beekeepers will remove a swarm for you. Click here for more details.

Honey can be used in so many different ways. Other bee products such as beeswax can also be used to make natural products.

Talk to other beekeepers and see their equipment before investing in your own.

Our Mission

Bibb County Beekeepers Association is an organization whose purpose is to promote, educate and assist individuals, community and the environment as it relates to beekeeping. We provide an informational and social platform for beekeepers of any experience level. Bibb County Beekeepers promote healthy beekeeping practices and management while offering education, encouragement and mentoring to anyone who wishes to be involved with honey bees.

We will meet about 6 or 7 times in 2019. We also have members who participate in state-wide meetings of the Alabama Beekeepers Association. 24th Annual Alabama Cooperative Extension System Beekeeping Symposium in Clanton, Alabama.

This symposium is hosted by the Alabama Beekeepers Association and is a great learning resource for all beekeepers, but especially new or soon-to-be beekeepers. Details can be found at the Alabama Beekeepers Association website.

April Field Trip

Hive Inspection Field Trip - Saturday, April 13

Interested in seeing an active hive inspection? Join us for this field trip.

We will begin at Sandra Emery's bee yard as she opens and inspects some hives. After that, we will go next door to the home of Bill and Mary Anne Smith to see his bee yard and enjoy some refreshments.

It is a great opportunity for new - or interested - beekeepers to get a live experience and see if beekeeping is for you. If interested, email us at info@bibb-beekeepers.org for more info. Or, meet us in the parking lot of Promise Land BBQ on Hwy 11 at 8:30 am Saturday, April 13.

September - ABA Annual Meeting

The Alabama Beekeepers Association has its annual meeting in September. The 2018 Conference will be held September 20 and 21, 2019 at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center, 1850 Lay Dam Road Clanton, Alabama, 35045. Registration is $45 until September 12. After that, registration goes up to $65. Registration and additional details can be found at the Alabama Beekeepers Association website.
